...a beautifully restored house in the centre of the old village of Bellapais, near Kyrenia, in North Cyprus.
The Carob Mill was once a working mill, with donkeys turning the millstone to grind carobs in what is now the Mill Room. Nowadays a fountain plays over the original stone in the pond, and the Carob Mill has become a place to relax and enjoy life.
The Carob Mill is in the old village of Bellapais, the most beautiful village in Cyprus. With views up to the mountains, and over the ruined Abbey to the sea with the lovely harbour of Kyrenia and its castle, there is no more peaceful spot on the island. Nearby is the house where Lawrence Durrell lived and began "The Alexandria Quartet".
Thankyou for visiting the Carob Mill. If you have any questions please email us at carobmill@hotmail.com
The Path to the Mill. The garden is full of mature mediterranean plants, with areas that always seem to catch the sun, and others that remain cool and shady.
